Hung (Selected Sinners MC #4) by Scott Hildreth - @ScottDHildreth

Hung (Selected Sinners MC, #4)
I have to admit I always get a little nervous before starting a book in this series.  I worry if my limits will be pushed to something that I'm going to hate or not be able to handle.  But then I start the story and these men - just totally make me fall for who they are, even if it always isn't perfect and pretty.  Because with these guys, it's not.  They are crass, and they are in your face, they are criminals, but good citizens .  They are manwhores when they are not in a relationship, but ultimately if you're the girl for them, they are faithful, and they will always have your back and take care of you.
Biscuit just made me laugh and smile.  His stories were ones I'm sure most of us don't hear in our lifetime.  They definitely  were one of a kind, and you could actually "hear" him telling them to you.  The funny thing with Biscuit though - you know how there are some guys out there who think they are "God's gift to women"??? Well, Biscuit truly thought - with his "special talents and physical attributes" that God truly did put him on this earth to please women.  Now how can you not love a guy willing to do what God wants, right?!?!?  And he was working his way through pleasing as many women as he could.

Kat only wanted a "bad-boy", mainly I think to stick it to her cop father.  And, even though she had a bad experience with one in her past, it did not deter her from looking for another one.  So when she met Biscuit, she was game for whatever he was offering - even if it was just a good time and nothing serious.  Personally, I don't think I would have passed him up with his skills and attribute either though!

I liked Kat and Biscuit together.  Their personalities complimented each other so well,  and surprisingly to both of them, they start to really have feelings for each other, which they kind of discovered together at about the same time.  I wanted them to figure out they were good for each other.  The only problem that upset me was that Kat made a bad decision, which I wanted to punch her for.  I hated her for it, and wanted to shake her and tell her to fix it - but she had to learn in her own way - no matter how difficult, and I mostly summed up her choices to her being only 23, and slightly immature.  But with everything going on, Biscuit truly showed the kind of man he was deep down - taking care of Kat in more ways than one.

This is definitely one of my favorite MC Series.  I love these "Selected Sinners" or

"Angels in Selected Sinners cuts is more like it."
"Protective Angels."

Their stories are crazy and amazing, and who they are deep down is so much more than you get from their outside appearance.  I can't wait for more!

Taking the Heat (Selected Sinners MC #2) by Scott Hildreth - @ScottDHildreth

Taking the Heat (Selected Sinners MC, #2)

Damn, with the way this book started out - I was wondering where the heck it was going to go.  That was one sex scene I had never read before!  You may start off the book not really caring for Toad, actually I'm pretty sure of it - but that will be short lived.  You will grow to love the man that he truly is, deep down - the true giver and compassionate man that he is.

Then you will meet Sidney and totally admire her ability to persevere through what she's been dealt with in life.  She doesn't pity herself, and circumstances or expect handouts.  Nope, she works for what she has, makes the best of all of it - and in the process makes others around her be better.

Toad and Sidney, both broken people, are beautiful together - perfectly matched, and watching their relationship grow, felt believable and not rushed.

I'm so in love with this series.  I just enjoy all the main and secondary characters in the story - they have so much personality and even if they have small roles, they have a great impact.  But, I think the main reason for my enjoyment of this series is mostly due to Scott's ability to make you feel and think with his writing.  The words of inspiration he writes and weaves into the story - that will somehow pertain and reflect in your own life and circumstances, always leave me thinking and feeling.  I'm totally hooked.

Making the Cut (Selected Sinners MC #1) by S.D. Hildreth - @ScottDHildreth

Making the Cut - Selected Sinners MC Erotic Romance
I'm not sure where to begin.  This really isn't your typical MC story, yet it was.  There was some gritty biker business taken care of.  There was some big, bad, rough, mean, sexy bikers.  There was also romance, but not what you would expect.  There was no insta-love, no wham-bamm, and thankfully, no club whores - but there was the building of a relationship over time.  There was...progress.

I loved just about everything with Avery and yes, Axton.  Avery was who she was, and even though she was a little insecure - she knew what she wanted, knew how to get it - and stuck with her plan to get there.  I loved her moments of insight and internal conversations with herself, and I enjoyed her sense of humor.  She was persistent, strong, and yes, even cute.  Even with her chances being "slim to none", she persevered.

The best part about Axton, was how he was with Avery.  That he never expected a relationship from her, but just took his time with her, yet never led her on.  She came from out of nowhere, and into his life, and ended up being someone who became and integral part of world.  Don't get me wrong though, he wasn't changing for her, he's not "flowers and cards" - he's just exactly who he puts out there - he's a biker through and through, that comes first.  He's a lot rough and doesn't put up with shit - take it or leave it, and trust me - you will take it!

This is the third Scott Hildreth book I've read, and each one has been drastically different from the others.  And even though they are all different, the common element is that each story has grabbed hold of me, and totally kept me wrapped up in the book, not wanting to get up until the story is finished.  Each books characters are so complex, yet easy to know and like.  You feel like you know their actual personalities, get how they talk -as if you can hear them saying the words in the book to you.  You can really picture them, their stance, their walk.  And even more, the characters somehow give you some insight-some statement made from something happening in the story, that makes you think and consider things differently.  As with Finding Parker and Karter, I totally loved Making the Cut and cannot wait until the next book comes out.  Give one of these books a chance, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Karter by Scott Hildreth - @ScottDHildreth

Karter
I have to admit, I was a little nervous going into this book.  But let me say, there was absolutely NO reason for my nervousness - this book had me devouring it in no time at all.

I adored Karter.  She was awesome.  I loved her spunk.  She told things exactly like they were, she was nothing but always honest - and put everything out there.  There was so much more to her, than what you saw.  She left me wishing I could be more like her.

Jak wasn't so bad himself either.  A sexy, retired Navy Seal, trying to get his life in order.  He meets Karter along the side of the road and helps her with her broken down motorcycle.  That's it - after these two meet, nothing is the same for them.  They've both altered each other's life path, and luckily they know it.  It's amazing how life sometimes happen, and the coincidences of meeting certain people - and how our lives are really are all tangled together.

I really did love how Jak and Karter were with each other.  Their playfulness together had me grinning, and I had to laugh out loud when Karter accused Jak of "short stroking" her.  Even with their age difference, and some other issues - their relationship was true, and you will definitely get the HEA as promised from the synopsis.  Don't be nervous about this book like I was, dive right in and enjoy!

Full Contact (Worth the Fight #2) by Sidney Halston - @sidneyhalston

Full Contact (Worth the Fight, #2)
I absolutely loved, loved this book.  Slade and Jessica's relationship felt so authentic, more realistic - moving in real time instead of lightning speed, which some romances seem to be.  Their kidding and playful joking around, either when they were in bed or just hanging out together - just sealed the deal for me as to how perfect their personalities were for each other.

Slade was perfection.  He may have once been a true playboy - when he first helped Jessica those playboy days were over - he was all in for her.

It did take a little more convincing and learning to trust on Jessica's part.  She is fresh from an abusive relationship, and even though she's definitely attracted to Slade, she is scared.  So what does Slade do to help convince her he's serious - he takes things slow, he shows her how he can be a gentlemen, he's serious about her.  I had to laugh, because while this was what she thought she wanted - it wasn't what she needed - but she was quick to tell him exactly what she needed.
Oh man - I was yelling "Amen, sister - that's what I want!!!"

Unfortunately Jessica's past still comes back to haunt her, and to protect the people she cares about, she makes decisions that cause a lot of pain - even to herself.  Luckily Slade is not one to totally give up, and she finds that she does have a friend or two that she can turn to for help.

I really couldn't get enough of these two - and I'm still chuckling at some of the funny things that Slade and Jessica said to each other. I enjoyed Against the Cage, but I have to say I totally adored Worth the Fight.  Definitely worth your time reading.

Brody (Bang Shift #1) by Mandy Harbin - @mandy_harbin

Brody: The Bang Shift Series
Xan and her son have been hiding, for the past ten years, from her ex-husband even though he is currently in jail for trying to kill her.  With help from the FBI she's been able to elude him and his family.  But, he's soon up for parole, and she's getting scared that once again she will have to pick up and move again, and her life will once again be put in danger even more so that he is out of jail.  The FBI is sure they can protect her - they have "people" helping to watch her and her son - trying to keep them safe.

Out of all the hot, sexy mechanics in the garage - who are also undercover mercenaries - Brody is the one assigned to keep an eye on Xan.  He does not want this job - she's going to be a problem, not only is he attracted to her, but she seems familiar to him and he can't place her.  He keeps her at arms length for as long as possible, until the attraction between them is too much.  Between keeping her and her son safe, falling for her, and slowly learning more about his past, and the people in his present life that he trusted - everything seems to just blow up.

I have to say that I am a total sucker for a hot romantic suspense story - and that is exactly what I got with Brody.  I loved Xan.  She was a fierce, strong woman - doing what was needed to keep her and her son safe from her ex.  Her son, Scott, was always her main concern - and she was a great mom.  And Brody, he was just the right amount of damaged - yet trying to make a better life for himself.  He tried his hardest to stay away from Xan, but the feelings and connection between these two was not to be denied.  Brody always tried to be as honest as he possibly could with Xan - even with the situation they were both in.

As with any suspense story - I don't want to give too much of the plot away - but I truly loved this book.  The relationship between Xan and Brody was scorching hot - and the story line had me guessing until almost the very end who was telling the truth and who wasn't - and how everyone was involved and what parts they all played.  I am so looking forward to see which sexy mechanic the next story will be about.
