Deacon (Unfinished Heroes #4) by Kristen Ashley - @KristenAshley68

Deacon (Unfinished Hero, #4)
What can I say?  Kristen Ashley does it again with Deacon.  Although this time Deacon is more broody, mysterious and kinky than her other Alpha males - which is a recipe for a great freaking story that I could not put down.  And as usual, Cassie, the heroine, is this awesome, strong female who you can't help but admire, root for and want to become her best friend.

I have to say, some of my very favorite "alpha man" quotes came out of Deacon's mouth.

And I don't want to take anything away from Cassie - she held her own.

If you are a Kristen Ashley fan, I can say you will not be disappointed with Deacon - and if you have never read one of her books - this is absolutely a great place to start and get hooked on K.A. and her amazing writing style including all of her incredible H/h's.
It truly was....

Crown's Chance at Love (Six Degrees #1) by Mayra Statham

Crown's Chance at Love (Book 1 of Six Degrees Series)

I couldn't even imagine how it must have been for Sabrina to open her door one Tuesday, and have her life altered so dramatically with the unexpected death of her husband.  She was strong though, she had to be for her three kids, she got them and herself through it - and almost four years later she was still fine.  She had her mantra to live by:

The problem was, her family and friends knew she wasn't the same woman she used to be.  Then, everything changed for Sabrina when she unexpectedly "bumped" into Mike.  For her a chance encounter, for Mike - not so much.

I have to say that for me, the first half of the book seemed to move a little slow, but the second half more than made up for it.  I think I felt like it moved slower the first half because that's exactly how Mike and Sabrina were taking their new relationship.  Sabrina was worried about moving too fast into something with Mike, she had the kids to worry about - that included a very busy life.  Mike was taking it slow, mainly because he was keeping a huge secret from Sabrina that could totally change her mind about how she felt towards him.  The problem for Mike kept being he never felt the time was right to open up - but he couldn't take things too far, without telling her the connection he had towards her husband's death.  I was tied up in knots, waiting for the truth to come out, screaming at Mike to "tell her already, tell her everything!!"

Sabrina felt Mike was holding something back, plus she had her own doubts feeling like she was bringing so much "baggage" to the relationship.  Of course along the way the truth inevitably comes out, and Sabrina has decisions and choices to make.

Even with all the forgiveness that Sabrina gave to Mike, he now doubted whether he deserved to have her.  Oh gosh, my heart totally broke when Mike finally tried to push Sabrina away for the last time.  Ugh, I seriously felt all of her pain and heart ache.  I didn't see how this could ever be fixed.

But Sabrina, who was truly one of the most amazing and truly forgiving woman I have ever seen - rises above it all, and finds her happiness.  She truly knew that

Sabrina is truly one of the most forgiving women I have ever seen, who rises above it all, and finds her well-deserved happiness.  This was really a sweet, sexy story (because let me say, there were some hot scenes!) of how forgiveness can heal a soul and of finding love when you least expect it.  So glad I had the opportunity to read this book, and look forward to seeing who the next story will be about.

Worth the Fall (McKinney Brothers #1) by Claudia Connor - @Claudia__Connor

Worth the Fall (The McKinney Brothers, #1)
Devoured. That's what I did with this book. I really had a hard time putting it down and go to work. I wanted to see if Matt would finally make his move. I wanted to know if Abby would be able to let herself be loved, and not be afraid of not being good enough, or having someone leave to never return. Then there were Abby's four kids, who I immediately fell in love with.  I wanted to see what cute thing they would say or do next, and watch them as they learned to love and trust Matt too.
Matt definitely got more than he bargained for on his trip to the beach when he met a pregnant Abby and her four amazing children.  He was immediately mesmerized by Abby's charming children and taken aback by Abby's beauty and kindness.  Too bad he had commitments that would only allow them a "friendship" during their week at the beach.  But, let me just say, the sexual tension between these two during this week was crazy!  I was screaming to myself "just kiss her already!!"

When they both get back to real life after their vacation is over, is when they truly realize just how much they've bonded and miss each other.  Even the kids can't get Matt off their minds - they want to see him again.  Between the distance, Matt's job and Abby's fear to let someone in - they have a lot to overcome to finally be together.

This was a sweet, beautiful love story that had me entranced the whole time. I think what made really fall for Matt was the way that he handled Abby's children.  He took great care with each of them separately, and totally opened his heart up to them along with Abby.  I totally fell in love with Matt, Abby, Annie, Jack, Gracie, Charlie and Baby Mary and I'm sure you will too.  Absolutely looking forward to the next book in this series!

Assumption (Underground Kings #1) by Aurora Rose Reynolds - @auroraroseR

Assumption (Underground Kings, #1)
It's official - Aurora Rose Reynolds is on my top ten list of favorite authors - and she has Kenton and Autumn (and actually the entire Mayson Family) to thank for that.

Autumn is a witness to murder and needs to leave town to stay safe until the killer is found.  Kenton is helping a friend out by letting Autumn stay at his house.  He has no problem with helping out, he has the room - the problem is Autumn is totally not what he was expecting.  He "assumed" she was something she wasn't, which to her was typical from most people. She wasn't going to help him figure out the truth.  He'd have to learn that the hard way.

I didn't just love Kenton in this book, because well - he was everything you could ever want in your Alpha male - I also totally loved Autumn just as much.  She is tough - Kenton calls her a "Warrior" and she truly is - she is strong, and will not back down - even with her insecurities and fears.  She has been through so much throughout her life, but has managed to always rise above.  I think some of my favorite parts where how Autumn handled Kenton's ex - not backing down, and giving it to her good!  I was laughing to myself just picturing everything happening.

Kenton and Autumn were so great together, even with some of the stupid things he said to her at times - you knew he really cared for her - and he wanted to protect her and make her happy.  She just really had to let go, and trust that he would be there for her.

Ms. Reynolds is one of those select few who knows how to write the perfect "Alpha Man" - with just the right portion of all the best and annoying qualities a man can have.  They are bossy, sexy, sweet, protective, loving and devoted, and great lovers!  But that's not all that I love about her stories, because all of her books extend past just the hero and heroine.  The families and friends play just as much as an important role in the stories - and the characters are all ones that you just want to get to know and be a part of their lives.  Plus, there's just enough drama in her books to keep you turning the page anxiously, yet not freaking you out.  Exactly what I love - and why I'll always be looking forward to the next book of Aurora Rose Reynolds to come out!
