A Vision in Time (Time #2) by B.A. Dillon

A Vision in Time (Time #2)

Mia has kept her ability of having visions private, and now that she has helped out Luke and Emma in the previous book, others are finding out about them.  The problem is  that she hasn't quite gotten a handle on when to expect them, or how to deal with the effects they have on her body, and the fear that people may look at her differently because of them.

This isn't her only problem though.  Mia's been hurt in the past, and trust is an extremely difficult thing for her to give.  She's got alot on her plate - and she may end up letting the best thing that has happened to her in years walk away.  She has met Isaac through Luke and Emma and she holding back on getting involved with him.  But Isaac wants her and a relationship with her.  Mia decides to give Isaac a chance, but wants to keep what they have quiet, so none of their friends or family knows.  Isaac accepts this for now, he thinks he can wear her down, but he does have a breaking point.  He knows her fears, and is willing to deal with them - but only for so long.

I really did enjoy that their relationship wasn't an "insta-love" type of deal.  It developed slowly over the time while they were "secretly" seeing each other.  Isaac was truly amazing.  Almost too perfect at times (which I think may be why I held back a star on my rating).  He was patient as any man can be, even more than I would have expected from someone.  But he handled Mia and her family with such love and care - you could just feel his devotion to them.  I especially loved how Isaac was so "in-tune" with Mia when she had her "visions" - and how he took care of her during them and after them, and believed in them.  He protected her in so many ways, and once Mia got her act together, I really started to like her so much better.  She was one stubborn woman.

I really enjoyed the suspense element in the story of which I don't like to give away too much information on, but it definitely held my attention.   If you're looking for a great romantic suspense story with a hea, then I highly suggest you give this series a shot.  You'll get your "hot" romance, and some intrigue with the suspense part - I don't think you will be disappointed at all.

Afraid to Fall (Dennison #1) by W. Ferraro - @AuthorWFerraro

Afraid to Fall (Dennison Series #1)
Delaney is a single mom, moving to a new town with her infant son in hopes of getting a fresh start on life.  She's strong and determined, and knows she'll be okay once she gets her and Jacob settled.  Things start off rocky though when her car gets stuck in the snow and she hasn't even reached her new home yet.  Luckily someone comes to her rescue, and gets her pulled out - and make sure she gets to her house safely.  Little does she know that this stranger who helped her, is the sheriff who also happens to be her neighbor.

Gage is driving home, and notices a car stuck in the snow.  He decides to stop and help, and with this act of kindness - he doesn't even realize how his life is about to change.  Well, maybe he might have an inkling once he notices Delaney, and feels an attraction to her - but also realizes she is going to be his new neighbor.

Right away, he instantly feels a need to look out for her and her son.  This is totally throwing him off, because he is not interested in any relationship - after being cheated on by his ex-wife and best friend.  At least he thinks he's not looking for more from Delaney.

Delaney has been burned too, and she is no state of mind to rush into any relationship.  She does notice Gage though, with his looks, there's no denying he's attractive.  There's an attraction between these two  that has to be addressed - and thankfully they give each other a chance to see what's there.  The problem becomes when Gage gets scared of his feelings - and his reactions to Delaney and his comments to her are hurtful.   He doesn't trust easily.

When Gage and Delaney are together and things are going well - they are beautiful together.  The way he takes care of her, and helps with Jacob are sweet and loving.  The problem becomes when Gage gets scared of his feelings - and his reactions to Delaney and his comments to her are hurtful.   He doesn't trust easily - and doubts sometimes overwhelm him, and honestly - he acts like a complete ass.

I really felt bad for Delaney when Gage went off on her - he said some really crappy things to her - and I just wanted to smack him.  I was so glad she stood up for herself.  If they were ever going to work out, he needed to trust her.   He just wasn't ready to do that totally - so she had to end it.

I love a great romance that includes a hot, sexy guy getting involved with a woman with a child - and I really enjoyed this book - even with the push and pull between these two.  I totally understood where Gage was coming from, and his fear - and I was glad for the strength that Delaney showed.  Even though Gage was an ass some of the time - he made up for it all in the end with his words and actions.  Ending up with a beautiful hea.

Against the Cage (Worth the Fight #1) by Sidney Halston

Against the Cage (Worth the Fight, #1)

For Chrissy Martin, returning to her Florida hometown always seems to bring bad luck. The day starts with a breakup text, followed by a jailhouse phone call from her troublemaker brother. Now a routine traffic stop has ended with her accidentally punching an officer... in a delicate place. Then Chrissy realizes that the hot cop on the receiving end of her right hook is none other than the man from her teenage fantasies.

Jack Daniels knows how to take a hit. After all, when he’s not chasing reckless drivers, he’s kicking ass in a mixed martial arts ring. So what takes his breath away isn’t the low blow, but the woman who dealt it: a gorgeous knockout with legs Jack wouldn’t mind being pinned under—who just so happens to be his best friend’s nerdy little sister, all grown up. Soon their instant chemistry leads to a sizzling affair, but Jack and Chrissy are fighting an uphill battle if they want to make love last beyond the final bell.

I really enjoyed this light, hot read.  I laughed so much just picturing Chrissy "hand" over her license and insurance to the "officer" and accidentally bringing him to his knees with that action.

Chrissy wasn't a love-struck teenager anymore.  She was a woman now, and not naive and defenseless like before.  Even if she was still totally smitten with Jack, she was not going to let him trample her heart.  She was in town to bail out her brother - get her money back and leave.  Having a fling with Jack wasn't on the agenda.

Jack wasn't going to miss this opportunity with Chrissy.  After eleven years, she had grown into a beautiful woman, and he wanted a shot at her.  He could feel the attraction between the two of them, and Jack being the smooth, dirty talker that he was - took the first opportunity to make his move and get her all flustered. Geeze, he even got me all flustered with his dirty talk!
Chrissy had so many things to work through on her trip home.  Not only did she have this whole new "relationship" with Jack happening, she had to reconcile a few issues with her brother.  Once she could work some things out - maybe things would become more clear about what decisions she should make for her future.  The problem was, she felt like running again - but Jack was not going to let her stay away again.  He knew she was definitely "worth the fight".

I loved Jack so much in this book, he was a good sport, and he definitely had a great sense of humor.  I loved how he didn't mess around with telling her how he felt about her, showed his interest right away - before she ran again.  And, how could you not love a man named Jack Daniels, with a Chihuahua for a pet that was part pit-bull.
If you're looking for a sweet, spicy romance this book is for you.

Baiting the Maid of Honor (Wedding Dare #2) by Tessa Bailey

Baiting The Maid Of Honor (Wedding Dare, #2)

Hold on a second here - I need a moment or two to compose myself from enjoying all of Reed's dirty talking!  Wow - I'm almost speechless, and I think I can say, that I found my perfect groomsman from Kady and Colton's wedding party.  Reed is the one for me!  Hold on tight girls, Reed is going to make you get all hot and bothered, and then some!

Reed is an unexpected fill-in for a groomsman for the wedding party, and he and Julie are paired together.  Talk about opposites!

Julie is a good, sweet, Southern girl.  Raised with perfect manners, a smile always on her face, always the pleaser, putting others needs first - taking care of everything and everyone.

Reed is...well, not romantic, rough, a dirty talker with tattoos and scars, doesn't do the romantic afterglow, doesn't cuddle or reassure, doesn't give out sweet nothings.

"What can I say? I'm an emotionless son of a bitch."

So, just imagine these two together.  I don't want to give too much of their explosive relationship away, because you really need to read it to experience it enjoy it yourself.  But I won't leave you totally hanging - here are some of my favorite lines.

For two people so opposite and who "don't know who they are" with each, it's completely obviously these two are meant for each other!

With each book I love this series more!

Reprisal by Christa Lynn

Reprisal - A Dark, Erotic Thriller

Romantic Suspense stories are truly my favorite type of books even if I don't get to read them much - and this book had me in it's grips from the beginning.  It was so hard to put down - I seriously considered calling off of work so I could get the pleasure of finishing it sooner.

Sydney is one of the strongest women you will ever meet.  After everything she endured as a teenager, it was truly inspiring how she rose above her pain and memories to help others that endured the same type of trauma.

Then there is Gabe, the sexy hot detective that catches Sydney's eye in a bar.  Little did they both know that they would be working together on a case that could potentially break Sydney.  Once Gabe sees Sydney again at the police station, he knows he has to have her - the attraction is undeniable, even Sydney has a hard time denying it.  But there's so much Gabe doesn't know about her past - and the new case is going to thrust Syndey into another nightmare.  This time though, Gabe will be there to protect her, at least he hopes to be.

Before you read this book, definitely take into mind the reader warning about violence and strong sexual situations.  I personally felt all descriptions of Syndey's past abuse were handled as delicately as they could be, without going into too much detail.  I don't want to give much of the story away, but if you are in need a smokin' romantic suspense then this book is definitely for you.  Gabe and Syndey were hot together and the story line will keep you guessing until the end.

Staking His Claim (Line of Duty #5) by Tessa Bailey

Staking His Claim (Line of Duty, #5)

Throw some water on me now, this book was HOT!!!  You could feel the heat radiating off of Matt and Lucy when they first laid eyes on each other - and it didn't stop during the whole book.

Matt is a totally alpha, take control guy - and Lucy is just the right person to push all his buttons, and bring out his true self.  He's just having a hard time sleeping with his best friends sister without him knowing - and the guilt he feels, about the beast inside of him that he struggles at time to control.

Lucy was always the nuisance in the family - and she doesn't want that anymore.  She's gotten her degree and ready to go after what she wants.  She wants Matt - and he's holding back.  She loves what he has to offer, but he's having a hard time believing that. Just when she thinks it's all figured out - she's left all alone, sitting on a bench thinking of the decisions she needs to make.

I love this series by Tessa Bailey, and the reason is that each of the 5 books so far have all been so different, the themes are not similar to the books before, yet they carry the strong alpha male in each one of them - along with women, who give them a run for their money.  You can't go wrong taking the time to read this series.
