Lead (Stage Dive #3) by Kylie Scott - @KylieScottbooks

Lead (Stage Dive, #3)

I absolutely love this series!!  These four guys have totally stolen my heart, and I really wish they were an actual band, so I could totally go all "fan girl" on them - listening to their music on my ipod, and hanging posters of them on my wall!!

This story is about Jimmy, David's brother, a recovering addict - who is working hard on staying clean, and taking care of the people he loves.  Lena, through a strange twist of fate, is unexpectedly hired by the band to be Jimmy's "sobriety companion".  Jimmy is not the easiest person to be around - she learns that very fast, but she can handle him - she's not going to let him walk all over her.

The problems for Lena begin, when she realizes as she's spending time with Jimmy, being his companion and assistant, that she is slowly falling for him.  She knows she needs to either get over this infatuation or quit her job - Jimmy would never want her.  My heart hurt so much at times for Lena, as I think a lot of us know the pain of "unrequited" love at one time in our life.  She was so brave - I don't know how she had the nerve to tell Jimmy exactly how she felt about him - I could have never been that brave for sure.

How to describe Jimmy??

Well, he's a total contradiction when I think about it.  He's a recovering addict, a former man-whore, extremely private, fiercely protective of his brother and those he cares about - but he is so very naive at relationships.  He seriously thought he could help Lena get over him.  I did have to laugh at some of his attempts at that, but deep down my heart broke for Lena, because she knew it would never work, she'd always have feelings for Jimmy.  She had to leave.

This is where I'll leave the rest for you to enjoy and read - and see how these two work out whether they should be together - or go their separate ways.  My stomach was in knots at times, I just wanted to give Lena the biggest hug ever, yet I couldn't hate Jimmy for the life of me.  He had his reasons for all of his feelings and actions.  I just love these two people.

I devoured this book for sure - but I have to say though, that so far, Mal is still my favorite of the four, he just makes me smile, and holds a special place in my heart.  I was so glad there was some of his "craziness" and antics in the book - along with Killer's appearance too!  But to be fair, before I pick my favorite in the band I'll wait for Ben's story - who knows he may end up being my favorite of the group!

Play (Stage Dive #2) by Kylie Scott

Play (Stage Dive, #2)

Let me make one thing perfectly clear before I start my review.

How can you not absolutely love him?

Mal is like a steamroller in the best possible way.  He's a come in, take care, take charge and takeover kind of person, add in the funniest personality, and you just cannot say no to him.  Don't believe me - just ask Anne.  Because that is exactly what he did to her - leaving her with her head spinning and heart reeling.

Anne tries to establish some boundaries with Mal - and being the kind of guy he is, he usually agrees, only after he's crossed them.  He knows "pumpkin" (his hideous pet-name for her that drives her crazy!) - only has "crazy eyes" for him (because he always checks when she meets a new guy) and talks her into a crazy idea!  Anne is just a little wary of Mal's "agreement" - mostly because she's had a crush on him for years, and she's afraid of how it all will affect her heart in the end.

This book has it all......

A Broken Bed!

A Flood!

Mal and his deep talks with her body parts and his...

"...concern with regards to the harsh and unyielding
nature of your shirt."

Oh, and last but not least - we have...

a "KILLER" puppy.

I thoroughly enjoyed all of this book, and couldn't put it down - there were so many parts that made me smile and laugh, and one or two that broke my heart.  Mal and Anne were truly a pair - their personalities complimenting each other - and when they finally gave it all to each other, the perfect person to help get through the difficulties that life sometimes throws at all of us.  I can't say enough about this book - I loved the first in this series, but now I think this one is my favorite - at least until then next comes out!

Rumor Has It (Limelight #1) by Elisabeth Grace

Rumor Has It (Limelight, #1)

Oh man, I felt so bad for Ellie - seriously, it seems as if "embarrassment" is her middle name lately.  Besides the video that goes viral with her in it, the way she meets Mason for the first time would not be the way most of us want to meet a hot guy!

Mason is awesome – he is loving the first time he sees Ellie, although he’s sure it’s just another fan trying to get to him.  He soon realizes Ellie is as she says – and really has no clue that he’s a famous hip-hop artist.  Mason, being the smooth talker he is – convinces her to go on a date, and with his built body and sexy tattoos, there is no way Ellie is turning him down.

Ellie just has to stick to her “ten date” rule and keep in mind that Mason is only in town for a few weeks – as long as she has her “PP’s” on – things should be fine.  For the first date, they are fine, she’s even heeding her rules – but then going out again – she unexpectedly finds out who Mason really is and now she’s not sure about seeing him again – or following any rules.

Mason wants to give things a try – he trusts Ellie, which for him trust is a major issue – there are not many people he can trust because of his fame.  For Ellie, she’s used to men not staying in her life – and with Mason only in town for a while, she knows she’s asking for trouble.  Even though Mason is so attentive and caring about her feelings, she feels unworthy of it and questions why he would even be interested in her.

There’s so many issues they have to deal with to make their relationship work – and when Mason catches her in a situation – trust is quickly gone…. But, sometimes you can’t believe all the rumors, or even exactly what you see.  I really enjoyed this story and you will definitely root for Ellie and Mason to work things out – and get through all the rumors to the truth.  Looking forward to the next book for sure!

**ARC generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review**

I don't know where to begin. I didn't just read this book - I felt this book emotionally. I didn't just read about the characters and story lines - I became part of their lives and felt their pain and joy. I didn't just like this book - I LOVED this book. This is a series worth reading - Dahlia and River are truly meant for each other - you should definitely read this book and enjoy their journey, and all the ups and downs, with them. I can't wait to read the next in the series!

OMG - did not see that ending at all... I can't even imagine how the next book is gonna sort this all out. River and Dahlia are great together....the banter between the two, just makes you smile - and the love they share for each other runs so deep. This book will have your emotions all over the place, in a good way. Move this book up on your TBR list!!
