Risking It All (Crossing the Line #1) by Tessa Bailey - @mstessabailey

Bowen is the best kind of Anti-hero type man.  He's tortured by what he must do, yet tries to find a way to make the best of his situation, and find a way out of his predicament.  Plus, he's sexy, dangerous, demanding, caring, protective, and has a hidden talent that many don't know about.

With a proposition, which he really doesn't have a choice to turn down - he finds himself trying to help Sera get out of the precarious undercover position she got herself in to.  The problem is Sera doesn't know that Bowen's there to help her.  She's stubborn and determined to get the information she needs.  She's going to use Bowen's help to get what she needs - luckily she gets even more, when they both give in to the attraction and let the sparks fly.

I don't want to give away too much of the ending - since there's some twists and turns - and Bowen and Sera are faced with some facts that could destroy everything between them.  This story kept me anxiously turning the pages, anticipating what would happen next.

This book is definitely an insta-love read, which at times had me doubting things, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the story.  And, while sometimes I wished I remembered more of Bowen's back story from "His Risk to Take" which was Ruby and Troy's story - it wasn't necessary that you read that book before this one.  Even with both of those things, I am still looking forward to the next book and getting Connor's story.

Baiting the Maid of Honor (Wedding Dare #2) by Tessa Bailey

Hold on a second here - I need a moment or two to compose myself from enjoying all of Reed's dirty talking!  Wow - I'm almost speechless, and I think I can say, that I found my perfect groomsman from Kady and Colton's wedding party.  Reed is the one for me!  Hold on tight girls, Reed is going to make you get all hot and bothered, and then some!

Reed is an unexpected fill-in for a groomsman for the wedding party, and he and Julie are paired together.  Talk about opposites! 

Julie is a good, sweet, Southern girl.  Raised with perfect manners, a smile always on her face, always the pleaser, putting others needs first - taking care of everything and everyone.

Reed is...well, not romantic, rough, a dirty talker with tattoos and scars, doesn't do the romantic afterglow, doesn't cuddle or reassure, doesn't give out sweet nothings. 

 

"What can I say? I'm an emotionless son of a bitch."

 

So, just imagine these two together.  I don't want to give too much of their explosive relationship away, because you really need to read it to experience it enjoy it yourself.  But I won't leave you totally hanging - here are some of my favorite lines.

 

 

 

 

For two people so opposite and who "don't know who they are" with each, it's completely obviously these two are meant for each other!

With each book I love this series more! 

 

 

 

 

 

Unfixable by Tessa Bailey

Irish men are a complicated sort.  They'll knock you on your arse when you're not looking.

 

 

 Willa is on her way to Dublin, Ireland after winning the trip through a photography contest.  The trip comes at a perfect time - as she just broke it off with her "perfect" boyfriend of two years - and she feels the need to get away from all the reminders of him, and her feelings of not being ever what he really wanted or needed.  She wants to find her "old self" instead of the person she has been pretending to be for the past two years.

 

 

Shane is helping his mother and sister run his family's Inn and Bar after his father passed away six months ago.  It's not where he wants to be - he has other dreams he needs to chase, and is battling with his decision of how to handle the situation he's been put in.  Being trapped at the bar which reminds him too much of his father, is really not where he wants to end up.

 

I knew I was going to love Willa right from the beginning - especially with how she totally "sassed" Shane right back within minutes of meeting him at the airport - and then left him at the airport and got her own cab to the Inn.  Right from the start - there is the constant battle of wills and attitudes with these two - not to mention the sexual tension that radiates off of them.

"It's inevitable, Willa.  We are inevitable.  When you stop fooling yourself, come and find me."

 

Both are struggling with their life and decisions they have made that led them to where they are.  Both are trying to figure out who they are and where they actually belong.  Both are made for each other - but Willa feels guilty for having feelings for Shane so soon after her breakup with Evan, not to mention the fact that she's only in Dublin for a month.
 

Shane is just too irresistible and charming to resist - even though she tries her hardest to avoid him at all costs.  She finally gives in to her feelings - but there's still the question hanging in the background, of what will happen to them once it's time for her to go home.



 

Dammit, Willa.  I didn't see you coming.

 

 

I loved watching as Willa finally let go, and opens up herself to Shane - finally realizing that she wasn't "Unfixable" at all.  Loved this story.
 

 

 

Staking His Claim (Line of Duty #5) by Tessa Bailey

Throw some water on me now, this book was HOT!!!  You could feel the heat radiating off of Matt and Lucy when they first laid eyes on each other - and it didn't stop during the whole book.

Matt is a totally alpha, take control guy - and Lucy is just the right person to push all his buttons, and bring out his true self.  He's just having a hard time sleeping with his best friends sister without him knowing - and the guilt he feels, about the beast inside of him that he struggles at time to control.

 

Lucy was always the nuisance in the family - and she doesn't want that anymore.  She's gotten her degree and ready to go after what she wants.  She wants Matt - and he's holding back.  She loves what he has to offer, but he's having a hard time believing that. Just when she thinks it's all figured out - she's left all alone, sitting on a bench thinking of the decisions she needs to make.  

I love this series by Tessa Bailey, and the reason is that each of the 5 books so far have all been so different, the themes are not similar to the books before, yet they carry the strong alpha male in each one of them - along with women, who give them a run for their money.  You can't go wrong taking the time to read this series.

I think this book may have been my favorite out of the series so far.  You have to love the constant back and forth between Brent and Hayden.  He thinks she's a totally stuck up, rich entitled duchess - and oh yeah, he can't help himself from staring at her legs and wondering whether she has garters on!  Meanwhile, she think he's some beer drinking, obnoxious, loser - with blonde hair, gorgeous green eyes and a killer body! 

Finally they give in to the feelings - and it is hot!  But when they think too much, the problems between them seem too much to overcome.  Can he fit into her world - and will she grow tired of his?  Finally they see each other in different lights - and the true people they really are. 

Loved this book - I read it in one sitting, it was so fast paced.  You'll think of the song "Wind Beneath My Wings" in a whole new light!  Hopefully the next book is about Matt!
