A Vision in Time (Time #2) by B.A. Dillon

 

Mia has kept her ability of having visions private, and now that she has helped out Luke and Emma in the previous book, others are finding out about them.  The problem is  that she hasn't quite gotten a handle on when to expect them, or how to deal with the effects they have on her body, and the fear that people may look at her differently because of them.

This isn't her only problem though.  Mia's been hurt in the past, and trust is an extremely difficult thing for her to give.  She's got alot on her plate - and she may end up letting the best thing that has happened to her in years walk away.  She has met Isaac through Luke and Emma and she holding back on getting involved with him.  But Isaac wants her and a relationship with her.  Mia decides to give Isaac a chance, but wants to keep what they have quiet, so none of their friends or family knows.  Isaac accepts this for now, he thinks he can wear her down, but he does have a breaking point.  He knows her fears, and is willing to deal with them - but only for so long.

I really did enjoy that their relationship wasn't an "insta-love" type of deal.  It developed slowly over the time while they were "secretly" seeing each other.  Isaac was truly amazing.  Almost too perfect at times (which I think may be why I held back a star on my rating).  He was patient as any man can be, even more than I would have expected from someone.  But he handled Mia and her family with such love and care - you could just feel his devotion to them.  I especially loved how Isaac was so "in-tune" with Mia when she had her "visions" - and how he took care of her during them and after them, and believed in them.  He protected her in so many ways, and once Mia got her act together, I really started to like her so much better.  She was one stubborn woman. 

I really enjoyed the suspense element in the story of which I don't like to give away too much information on, but it definitely held my attention.   If you're looking for a great romantic suspense story with a hea, then I highly suggest you give this series a shot.  You'll get your "hot" romance, and some intrigue with the suspense part - I don't think you will be disappointed at all.

Tethered Through Time by B.A. Dillon

Have you ever met someone for the first time, and you swore you met somewhere else, that they felt so familiar?  Someone that you just "clicked" with right away?  Someone that you could "open up" to right away, trusting them immediately?  When Luke and Emma meet for the first time - this is exactly what both of them felt, that undeniable pull which also included a few "sparks".

When Emma meets Luke, she's been healing for the last 10 months after losing her husband of 25 years.  She's also been struggling with a recurring dream that is keeping her awake at night - haunting her, along with dealing with her kids being away from home, and now being totally alone in the house.  She's attracted to Luke instantly, but holding back because she's not sure if it's okay to move on after her husband's death.

                        

Luke feels the connection instantly when he see Emma, and shakes her hand.  He hasn't been interested in someone this much since he was engaged over 25 years ago.  He falls hard, fast right away - and he needs to get to know her.  He asks her out for coffee - but the timing is wrong at first for both of them.  She needs to take time to decide if dating is right for her, and he needs to wrap up and undercover case he is working on.

After a couple of weeks, finally the timing is right and they set a date.  Right from the beginning things move fast - they open up immediately about the attraction they instantly felt, sharing their past - and Emma shares the dream that is haunting her.  Together they try and figure out what is going on, and how the dream relates to them, though at times it causes rifts in their relationship as Luke struggles to understand.

This book had me guessing the whole time, as to how Emma's dreamed played a part in Luke in Emma's past and how it would play into their life today.  It totally was not what I expected either when I found out the ending.  I enjoyed the story line and loved their romance - especially dealing with a couple in their late forties, which to me made it more relatable, and understandable that their relationship would move at a faster pace.  The only thing that sometimes "got" to me, was the frequent use of the "terms of endearment" such as sweetheart, honey, etc.  But, maybe I'm just jealous because my husband doesn't use those terms on me!  This was a sweet love story, with a past life twist - that will keep you guessing the whole way - and give you hope that there may be a chance for love a second time around.

How to Kill Your Boss by Krissy Daniels

I'm so glad that I went into this book blind, just on my fellow blogger, Nic's, recommendation - not reading the synopsis, just kind of imagining what the book would be about by the title alone.  I have to admit, I thought the title was a little corny, but I figured I would chance it and read the book, and I'm so glad I did because I totally loved this story.

Franklin, oh man he was hot, he was sexy, and he was possessive and protective.  But the best was that he knew Tatum was his since the first moment he laid eyes on her.

To be honest though, Franklin wasn't totally perfect, because I really did want to smack him a few times because he kept her in the dark about some things.  I did understand his mindset though, and that he believed he was doing what was best for her and keeping her safe.  Oh to have a man that fiercely protective!

What I loved best about Tatum was that somehow she always managed to let something slip out of her mouth, that was slightly inappropriate, and actually pretty funny.  It was never meant to be hurtful, she was just giving the bare truth without a filter - and I loved her sass and the strength she harbored deep down.

 This was a great, hot, sexy romantic suspense, that had me guessing and wondering what the hell was going on throughout the whole book.  I really enjoyed this book, and trust me if you are looking for a great hot, sizzling romantic suspense.....take the chance on this book, I don't think you will be disappointed at all.

Decker's Wood by Kirsty Dallas

I think I've fallen in love with a porn-star.

 

Yeah, that's absolutely one sentence that I never imagined coming out of my mouth, but oh man - how can one not fall in love with Decker Steele??

 

When I offered to read the arc, I seriously had doubts as to what I was in store for with this book.  How could I not when the synopsis is:

 

Decker Steele is the Pornography Associations award winning, money making machine. But what does a self-confessed, pussy pounding warrior do when his prized package begins to fail? Freak the 'F' out, that's what!

Andi Jennings is the socially inept, geeky and awkward cousin of Decker's best friend. Only she's not so geeky and awkward anymore. Now she's a smokin' hot country bumpkin, with a smokey voice made for phone sex, and a pair of hot as hell cowboy boots. Everyone adores her, my porn star buddies, my mom and dad, my 'equipment'.

So, the prized package isn't so failing anymore, the catch is, it will only perform for Andi...My friend WITHOUT benefits.

 

I was totally prejudiced thinking it would be all smut - no story.  But, I figured, what the heck - I know it'll be funny.  Well, let me say that the book was way more than funny, I loved the story - all the characters - and especially the ending.

 

Decker was such a charmer, he's the boy next door who just so happens to be a porn star.  The past year, he hasn't been working, considering changing professions - especially since he's been having a problem getting "it" up without a little blue pill.  Or he "was" having a problem, until Andi, and old friend of his cousin, moved to NYC to open up her own bookstore.  After seeing her for the first time in twelve years - with braces off, head out of a book, and curves of a woman - suddenly his "equipment" was all fixed and ready for action!

Andi had crushed on Decker since she was a teenager - and seeing him for the first time after all these years, well he only got better.  She knows he's a player, and he's very elusive as to what he does for a living.  As these two reconnect, becoming friends they fight the underlying sexual tension that constantly smacks them in the face.  Decker is afraid to cross the line, he doesn't feel like he's deserving of Andi at all.  And once Andi discovers what his career was, she's accepting of it, as a friend only.

I absolutely loved their relationship together, including his corny nickname of "Country" for her, but especially all their playfulness they had together.  There were so many great moments between these two in the book - and I know all of you who read this already - you have to agree with me the "helicopter" moment is the very best!!  I want to see Decker do that for myself!

 



The secondary characters in this book, were just as charming and unexpected as ever.  My favorites though were Casey and Lionel, those two just cracked me up - all the visions of Casey in spandex!  But, what surprised me the most, and in the best way possible, was that characters who I would have thought to have acted a certain way, didn't - totally surprising me, and made the book all that more better.  This is definitely a book you should all give a try!

I soooo have a new Book Boyfriend!! Tucker is everything you could want wrapped up into one perfect man! Lily and Tucker both have exes and relationship issues, but Lily is so perfect for him, she's spunky, and damn her sass just has you laughing out loud some times - (loved the texting too!). Tuck is the dom man(with a sense of humor) every girl wants, and he and Lily just work so well together - they just have to put aside their pasts and not be afraid of the future. This book had me from the beginning, I could barely put it down - definitely one of my all time favorites!!
